Prest0n vs Claude
Claude Duet is a proactive agent in research preview, for subscribers on Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the US, through a waitlist. Prest0n is a full-time employee for your whole firm, working under your firm’s rules: nothing runs without your permission, and anything runs with it.
Prest0n and Claude, question by question
each answer about the other product rests on its maker’s own words, marked with its source.
- who it works for — Prest0n: your whole firm: one employee your team works with together. every person on your team uses it at no extra cost: you pay only for Prest0n employees. Claude: Claude Duet: a research preview for subscribers on Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the US, through a waitlist.
- what waits for a person — Prest0n: by default, anything that leaves your firm waits for the person accountable for it to authorize it; only that person or your workspace can choose to send a kind without asking. Claude: before Claude Duet sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, it shows you what it is about to do and waits for your approval.
- what happens to your content — Prest0n: your content is used only to provide the service to your firm, and Prest0 is committed to it never being used to train shared models; zero retention at every model provider is being built. Claude: on Free, Pro and Max you choose whether your chats train its models (kept five years if you allow it, 30 days if not); its commercial products are not used for training by default.
- when it acts for you — Prest0n: it works within the rules your management sets. these rules are built into the system: Prest0n cannot turn them off. governed actions land in an append-only audit feed your team can read. Claude: a few things are off-limits even with your approval, like trading securities or moving money between accounts.
- who decides what it may do — Prest0n: management decides what Prest0n can see and do, and permissions are resolved for the person asking, on every single message. Claude: you, task by task: its task list shows what Claude Duet has done and is doing, and you can steer it mid-task.
- how it is priced — Prest0n: per Prest0n employee: every person on your team uses it at no extra cost: you pay only for Prest0n employees. Claude: Claude Duet is included with Pro, Max and Ultra plans during its research preview.
where Claude is strong
- before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, Claude Duet shows you exactly what it is about to do.
- scheduled tasks run remotely, on their cadence, even when your computer is asleep.
- Claude can remember context from your chats and carry it into new conversations and Cowork tasks.
- by default, its commercial products are not used to train its models.
where Prest0n is different
- one employee your whole team works with, in your firm’s own workspace: every person on your team uses it at no extra cost.
- management decides what Prest0n can see and do, and permissions are resolved for the person asking, on every single message.
- governed actions land in an append-only audit feed your team can read, and a legal hold pauses deletion while it stands.
you decide how much it does
nothing runs without your permission. anything runs with it. as much or as little of the work as you choose: for you, and for your team. by default, anything that leaves your firm waits for the person accountable for it; only that person or your workspace can choose to send a kind without asking.
where the difference matters most
what courts and regulators say about AI in these fields, and how Prest0n compares there.
- for law: a federal court has held that a client’s own chats with an AI app were not privileged. here is what courts and the bar have said, and how Prest0n compares, question by question.
- for finance & CPA: the IRS now tells practitioners to handle client data using only secure, enterprise-approved AI. here is what regulators have said, and how Prest0n compares, question by question.
- for insurance: insurance regulators expect decisions made with AI to meet the same legal standards as any other. here is what they have said, and how Prest0n compares, question by question.
questions buyers ask
- what did a court say about chats with Claude? in United States v. Heppner (S.D.N.Y. 2026), a federal court held that a defendant’s own exchanges with Claude, made without his lawyers directing them, were protected by neither the attorney-client privilege nor the work product doctrine: Claude is not an attorney, and the privacy policy its users accept let Anthropic train on what they typed and disclose it to third parties.
- does Claude ask before it acts? before Claude Duet sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, it shows you what it is about to do and waits for your approval. with Prest0n, anything that leaves your firm waits by default for the person accountable for it, and that person, or your workspace, decides which kinds may go without asking.
- where does Claude Duet do its work? Claude Duet works in a browser of its own, on its own computer in the cloud, and its help center says that browser is not one you can watch or take over; its task list shows what it has done and is doing. for a system with no connection, Prest0n works in a real browser on your workspace computer, and you type the password and the one-time code yourself.
